Training Update! More Eye Recovery!

A Friday evening, enjoying this bowl of oats and this time I did apples and kiwi on a larger, steel bowl. It has been almost 2 weeks and thankfully my eye is a good 95%. There is still a hinted sense of blur in my right eye’s line of vision but it is more like a glass mirror or window that needs a good spray of Windex and wipe. Light sensitivity is still very much there as I’ve had to use polarized sunglasses to darken my view and even then, it is still stinging.

As far as my training goes, it is a work in progress as I mentioned in my previous blog that is will be geared towards muscular endurance and stability. It was definitely a Push day yesterday and this far, while my triceps were intact and my pecs were okay but my shoulders felt a significant weakness, which I anticipated given that when the abrasion happened, it took part of my neck down, as well as some of my face and even my mouth.

The good news is that adaptation is rolling in steadily and I am able to straighten my neck and have almost full motion of my facial muscles. My injured eye is the only one that is still not 100% in terms of opening given that the muscles and the eye itself are still strengthening.

The training itself consisted of a good 25 minutes of walking outside (10 from home to the bus, 15 from the bus to the gym) and then flat Bench Press with 4 sets of 10-20 reps, then Incline Dumbbell Press, Arnold Presses, alternating Delt Raises and Tricep Extension. The rest intervals consisted of 30-90 seconds. The weightlifting segments alone lasted a total of simply 45 minutes. Simple, to the point, no flash, just the necessary.

On that note, may you all have a blessed weekend, while I get some food for my kid, as well as more homework. I also have some art to do and some rest for work early in the morning.
