‘RonaMania 2020 Pt. 2! More Lifestyle Changes!

In the last blog post, I discussed how this whole COVID19 thing affected me on a fitness level. Thankfully, since the last post, I’ve been able to look over my matters & understand how to readjust in order to get to where I was before the pandemic. In this post, however, I’ll be discussing the more artistic aspects of how this pandemic altered my way of life.

As a musician, I have extra time but also time to write. The hardest part is doing the work when, on an emotional level, you aren’t always there. It’s a lesson in frustration but one that I strive to overcome. I’ve decided to prepare to make weekly Sunday jam videos on Youtube (starting 08/02/2020) just to share more of the music/performing arts element of Ron Gunz.

In this same process, another element has come into play — gaming. Let’s be real for one second — yes, fitness is something I value, along w/drawing, music & writing…but gaming is another element by itself that I enjoy. I’ve decided to use video game playthroughs done by yours truly as a mental exercise to further freshen up the wells of creativity in my other elements. It has also become the very thing to help me open up more & be more of myself out here in this world. In a world being plunged into uncertainty & fear, we gotta let out the fun again somehow. If asked 10 years ago that I would become an entrepreneur of this kind, I’d be flabbergasted but also skeptical — because 10 years ago, I was still in process of controlling my physical health and to some degree my mental as well.

Of course, why not pick the games I personally enjoy as part of the dissecting process. As a test, I ran w/Sonic Mania Plus b/c of how nostalgic & entertaining it was (is & always will be). Then I dived into Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven, based off one of my fav manga/anime up to Chapter 9 due to “scene blocked” reasons (which will lead me to needing a Capture Card). I had previously KO’ed the entire story of Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath Kollection & now doing Persona 5 Royal. In the process of immersing myself into video games again, I’m finding more of a footing in terms of analysis, commentary & social interaction. This ultimately makes it easier to engage in the real world versus just keeping your mouth shut and never getting in the habit of social interaction (because social distancing is definitely causing some sense of isolation).

In effect, this caused my Youtube channel to spring up some interest & viewership so that when I upload or livestream my musical/artistic abilities, we have even more engagement. What irony — a pandemic situation meant to force social distancing is the very thing getting me to interact!

As I am 100% out of words to speak on regarding my truth, I wish you all a wonderful day.
