Having watched this month’s Playstation State of Play affirmed to me that gaming is leveling up in presentation and quality. If you omit 1st person shooters, gacha and looter games, you’ll find that video games have come a long way. Elden Ring NightReign aims to take Fornite‘s style and wipe its ass with it. This will be glorious since FromSoftware hits home runs every time. Lies of P: Overture looks to dwarf the base game. More Stellar Blade DLC adds value to an already beautiful game. Hell Is Us appears more to be a great sci-fi styled Soulslike. Can we all admit that Soulslike, as a genre, is here to stay? I think so.
I managed to finish editing the 4th episode of the FireFrei novel. As of this writing, I’m up to page 40 as a whole that I’ve successfully transferred from paper to screen. I’ve also accepted that I fit best in the light novel genre. It’s the best way to describe my writing approach. I like to incorporate art and make sure the material is easy to read. I also keep the narrative engaging to keep interest. Writing the whole train station brawl was faster than I remembered. Wolves emit blood rot-inducing vapor. They fought against a 6 headed snake beast. It was more thrilling this time than when I first wrote it.
Chapter 5 will be relatively short to transcribe. Transferring chapter 6 will need patience. Thoughtful reviewing is required for chapter 6. It’s no exaggeration when I say that 6 has a lot unfolding. Things escalate as well to the point where prior events seem minuscule in scope. Plot holes that I accidentally created do end up resolved due to actions taken by key characters. I also begin to shift the narrative from the direct mind of a character to one from afar. This is a personal choice. While I do enjoy having the reader read descriptions and thoughts directly from characters, sometimes you want to watch. Watching from a distance can be just as rewarding. Watching things unfold from afar offers a different perspective.
