I’ve managed to finish the April entry of Drafts. I’m happy to see that I managed to make it longer than the February and March entries combined. I did say that each chapter’s length would vary. It’s been a writing project that pushes me to just write a story. It isn’t perfect but it motivates me to keep my mind active — at times more active than my body’s allowed outside of work.
Just the other day, I was looking up how to master tracks on Logic Pro 11 since I have often recording, mixed and just released my music but in terms of mastering, that’s a music production aspect that I somehow had whooshed over my head.
Thankfully, it turns out that, unlike Logic Pro X, Logic Pro 11 has a plugin tool specifically to master. I was wowed. As tempted I am to revisit my old music and apply this, I’ve accepted that my past released music has to be accepted for what it is and just move forward with upcoming music, as well as for exploring old songs I have unfinished on my MacBook Pro.
Finally, I wanted to announce the final addition to my collection of instruments — a classical/electric guitar. I admit that if there’s something we have today that we didn’t 10-20 years ago, it’s the ability to find videos of people online whom have purchased and/or reviewed instruments to at you may have been on the fence to purchase in order to spare you a lot of speculation and buyer’s remorse. As someone that worked in music retail but enjoys music in my personal time on a whim, it’s extremely refreshing. I know many that like their steel string acoustic but honestly, when it comes to acoustic, I prefer classical. If I’m gonna play unplugged or do acoustic parts, I want it to be as far removed from an electric guitar style as possible.
Do I hate tying nylon strings? Yes! Will I learn to do so? No but thank Apollo that ball end nylon strings exist in different styles and flavors.
I do have to get the pots of my 5 string bass cleaned and unfortunately replace my Gravesend multi-mod pedal…but they’re things I look forward to do in order to comfortably move forward to work on some music.
