Write your guide to setting healthy boundaries in relationships.
- When addressing something, state it plainly and with clarity
- If you’re not ready to talk about something, make it known. Don’t let a person second-guess or leave them in a loop that may induce anxiety on their end.
- If there’s a time where you know it’s best to discuss it, notify immediately.
- It’s okay to let someone know that you’re not comfortable with something. Whether you explain why (or not) is at your discretion.
- If you and the other person can’t seem to ever have an exchange without it verging on a heated argument, it’s best to low contact to no contact.
- Particularly for online discourse — if a commenter resorts to name calling or attacking your appearance, instant block. Don’t feed their energy.
